Salam hormat semua,

Promosi membunuh? tidak, saya cuma ingin berkongsi sedikit cerita mengenai sebuah kedai komputer (computer store) yang menjalankan satu promosi yang ter-amat2 menarik kepada pelanggan2 disekitarnya(dulu mereka ada jgak buat masa mula2 open kedai mereka kt sini). Saya tahu para internet marketer juga telah melakukan perkara yg sama pada produk mereka sebelum ni..

Nak dijadikan cerita, pada bulan lepas saya telah mendapatkan sebuah LCD monitor 17" pada harga yang berpatutan, iaitu cuma RM399.00..pasti anda terkejut <('0')> . Tetapi ia hanya untuk 20 unit sahaja pada hari tersebut, jadi saya & adik keluar rumah awal skit sebab takut terlepas benda alah ni. Apabila sampai je kami kt tempat tu, kami lihat 'pehh' ramai tul umat kt situ, kami keluar x la lambat sgt lebih kurang 8.15pagi tiba kt situ, pastu kami terus masuk queue (bukan potong queue ma). Beberapa min kemudian kami diberi no (macam no giliran) & dapatlah saya no 76 & adik sy 75, dalam hati pun berkata "xda harapan" ,bayangkan LCD tu hanya 20unit, no kami 75&76...

Nasib kami baik aritu (ada luck), apabila tiba giliran kami utk membeli, cuma tggal 3 atau 4 biji je lagi LCD tu. Nk tau kenapa? Pada haritu mereka juga menjual Thumb Drive 2GB(50unit), Inkjet printer (30unit) & juga LCD ni 20 unit, semuanya pada aritu 100unit. Kebanyakan pelanggan di depan kami membeli printer & juga thumb drive, kerana harganya juga menarik, ThumbDrive2GB=RM29.90 & Canon Injket Printer=RM88.00, meleleh air liur korang melihatnye, hehe..

Ini adalah satu teknik pemasaran yang bagus, walaupun harga produk rendah, tetapi habis dijual. Jadi kuranglah stok barangan yang disimpan & produk baru dapat dikeluarkan dengan segera.

p/s: minggu seterusnya mereka menjual LCD19"=RM499, wow!!

Focus On Ethics. Any Guarantees?

Hello, yesterday was a "football night" for me & last night I had a time to watching football, it's for a long time I'm waiting to do that before.. =)

Okay, I'm not touched about football, here is about our ethics on buying & selling (software privacy).
Here's an article for who's want to buy a software product (especially tangible product); Most software packages are covered by "shrink-wrap licenses". The licenses information is visible through the shrink-wrap packaging & the purchaser is supposed to read it before opening. The act of opening the packages signifies the user's acceptance of the terms of the license. Although many packages display the license agreement during installation & require the user to check a box to signify acceptance, by that time it's too late to change your mind.

Most vendors will not accept returns of opened software. These licenses contain language shielding the vendor from all claims other than those arising from physical defects in the CD. Recently, Congress & courts have moved to make these licenses more enforceable & to allow software manufacturers the right to change the terms of the license after purchase.

Read the shrink-wrap license that came with some software that you or your company purchased. What remedies does the license give you if the product doesn't work or if it damages your computer? Now read the warranty from an inexpensive electronic device, say a VCR, DVD player, or TV. What similarities & differences you see?

Software corporations argue that they need the protective terms of the shrink-wrap license to shield them from frivolous lawsuits. Consumer advocates assert that consumers need recourse if the product doesn't work as advertised. How would you balance these competing claims?

I'll start here; An organization, in contrast to individual users, must take a different approach in acquiring software. Most organizations such as businesses, governments & non-profit agencies have computers & their users need software. Although software publishers' policies vary, several options are usually available. If an organization is going to install the software on individual computers, it might be able to arrange a volume discount for the required number of packages. Alternatively, the organization could purchase a site license, which allows the software to be installed either on all its computers or on a specific number of computers, depending on the license terms. The customer agrees to keep track of who uses the software & takes responsibility for copying & distributing the software & manuals to its own personnel. Incidentally, if you work for a large corporation, check with your employer before you buy a copy of the expensive software you use at the office. Under some license agreements, employees are allowed to use the same software at home.

Organizations with local area networks (LANs) often install a network version of widely used software, such as word processing, on the network 's server computer. Thus the software is available to users connected to the network without the necessity of installing the software on each user's computer. In this case, the license fee may be based on the total number of users on the network or may provide for a maximum number of concurrent users.

Another software movement is gaining in popularity: electronic software distribution. Never mind the trip to the store. You can get freeware, shareware & even commercial software from the internet. One common scenario is to download copyrighted software free from the manufacturer for atrial period. When you use the software, you are encourage to go back online & register (pay with a credit card or etc.) . Unregistered software often disables itself automatically after a given time period, such as 21 days. In the not-so-distant future, users will not need to purchase software, but will be able to download it temporarily from a vendor via the internet for a per-use rental fee.

Application service providers provide an alternative method of delivering applications to businesses via the internet. An application service provider (ASP) is a company that sets up & maintains application software on its own systems & makes the software available to its customers over the internet. By using an ASP for its complex applications, a business can avoid the expenses of installing & maintaining those applications on its own system. According to some estimates, the cost of renting a major enterprise-wide application, such as a human resources package, can be as much as 30% less than the cost of buying, deploying & supporting it in-house.

For this post I want to share the article & to tell the readers who didn't know about software privacy, for people who know this topic, I just want to refresh back ur mind..

Firstly, sometimes software is free. Software is called freeware if its author chooses to provide it for free to all (eg. www.oswd.org ,there is a lot of free web design template). However, freeware is copyrighted; that is the author retains legal ownership & may place restrictions on its use. Software that is not copyrighted is called public domain software & may be used, or even altered, without restriction. Software developed by universities & research institutions using governments is usually in the public domain.

Open-source software is a variation of freeware. A freeware program is normally distributed in a machine-readable format that is unreadable by humans. You can use it, but even if you know how to write programs, you can't make changes to it. The developers of open-source software, however, make the source code available, which means that programmers can examine the source code, bugs are found quickly & improvements made. More & more commercial-quality software is being made available under the open-source concept, especially software designed to run under the Linux operating system.

Shareware is a category of software that is often confused with freeware. Like freeware, it is freely distributed, but only for trial period. The understanding is that if you like it enough to continue using it, you will pay a nominal fee to register it with the author, Many authors add incentives such as free documentation, support and/or updates to encourage people to register.

The software that people use most often is packaged software, sometimes called commercial software, such as word-processing or spreadsheet software. This type of software is usually copyrighted & cost more than shareware. You must not copy commercial software without permission from the manufacturer. In fact, software manufacturers often complain of software piracy, the making of illegal copies of commercial software. Microsoft & other manufacturers pursue violators to the full extent of the law.

What is the best way to purchase commercial software? The small retail software store has all but disappeared because the price of software has declined too much to provide an acceptable profit margin. So software has moved to the warehouse stores & mail-order houses, each with thousands of software titles. College students have another option; their college bookstore. To encourage students to become familiar with their products, many software publishers make their most popular products available through college bookstores at deep discounts.

Why is the Internet so important?

Hello to all readers

This morning I want write some of the Internet basic as simple as I can, cause this topic is everybody know about it & I just want to remember for myself & to all new young baby..(huhu)

The internet is powerful, it's pervasive, & it's still evolving. You can reach more information from your computer desktop than is contained in most libraries. Increasingly, the internet is like television-it's everywhere & it's always on. And, like TV, the ready access to the internet afforded by personal computers, internet appliances, shopping mall kiosks, palm-tops, & mobile phones is already changing our lives & our lifestyles.
Maybe the most exciting thing about the internet is that it is always changing. Of course, the technology we use to get to the Net improves at an amazing pace, but perhaps more dramatic is the incidence of new cultural, legal & ethical issues posed by the quick, cheap & unchecked exchange of ideas across traditional boundaries. Issues of intellectual property, free speech, individual rights, contracts, liability, morality & taste abound on the net. (I'd like to download for all free software, etc cause no money, hehe )
When you use the net, you enjoy, you learn, & you confront new, technology-driven variants of age-old problems. What could be more exciting than that?

Why should I use the Internet?
The one answer that applies to everyone is that you don't dare risk being left behind. Futurist predict that networking of some kind will be as necessary to work & to living as technologies such as the answer to this question depends on you. Are you curious? Would you like to connect with people around the world? Would you like an amazing library at your fingertips? Would you like the convenience of finding out about almost anything current--political events, the weather, the score of your favorite team's game, the verdict of a court case--by typing at the keyboard? Do you plan to travel abroad in the near future? (and you can add more of your dream & your interest idea, hobby, cooking recipe, and bla..bla..bla...)

Is this going to cost money?
Maybe. Free Internet access is common in schools & libraries & other government organizations.(government staff like it..) Your employer may offer free access. If you want to hook up from your own personal computer (like me), the required software is probably free, but you will have to pay some sort of monthly charge to the company providing the physical connection. (I disappointed cause my internet downloading is toooo slow, you got what you pay)

Lastly, the Internet is about technology, but it's also about people & ideas. As you learn more about how things are on the Net, ask yourself, "Is this how things should be?"

p/s : sometimes I think how can they do that? design the chipset & processor of the computer, give job to a computer like robotics...

Bolasepak Tempatan

Apa khabar & salam perkenalan kepada semua pembaca blog zairy-WeBlog Here. Hari ini kami ingin mengingatkan kita semua (refresh your memory..kata omputeh) tentang kedatangan musim baru bolasepak Liga Malaysia, bagi yang terlupa atau buat-buat lupa jenguk-jenguk lah sekejap bolasepak kita. Kalau bukan kita yang menyokong bolasepak tempatan, siapa lagi 'tak gitu'. Bagi mereka yang tak berminat @ kurang minat (x ada selera kata org Arab) tak mengapa, mungkin tahap bolasepak tempatan belum mencapai citarasa footballers-footballers, kickers-kickers & sama waktu dgnnya, tapi jagn tak ambik tahu langsung sudah le yek..ape ke he nyer kate org parit.

Yang teman nk bagitau ni dengar cite FAM (klau x kenal gak ngan menatang ni x tahu le teman) menjanjikan mutu bolasepak yang boleh dikatakan tinggi, mungkin disebabkan persatuan ini sudah berubah wajah, darah baru la katakan. Ini suatu perkara yang baik & molek untuk didengar, tambahan skuad bawah 23thn kebangsaan juga ura-ura dikatakan tidak akan bermain untuk liga M untuk menjaga kualiti pemain kebangsaan (dengar cite le). Ini sudah dikira bagus sebab kualiti pemain dalam Liga M belum mencapai tahap yang dikehendaki sebenarnya. Kalau bebudak ni main dalam Liga M mungkin prestasi mereka jatuh bukan nak menyindir pemain LigaM tapi nak bagi mereka cabaran (challenge) untuk memajukan diri.

Baiklah bagi peminat-peminat pasukan negeri & kelab datanglah ke stadium berdekatan anda, ramai-ramai lagi happening..

Introduction

For years Mike McDowell refused to buy a personal computer.The 38-year-old McDowell, owner of a 1,200 acre farm in Wisconsin, told his disappointed children that they would just have to use the computer at school. The family simply could not justify the expense of a computer in the home. "If I buy a new tractor," he noted, "I can make the farm more profitable. But a computer? I just can't see it."

He can now. Mr. McDowell took a look at the new price tags. As personal computer prices ducked below $1,000, they attracted a whole new audience of home users. In fact, more than half of new computers are purchased by first time buyers. In addition, computers are continuing their winning ways: Almost 80% of computer buyers are "satisfied" or "very satisfied" with their computers.

Mr. McDowell ticks off the uses his family has found for the computer. He took a class at his local community college & learned to use spreadsheets, a kind of rows-and-columns report, to plan his crop planting & rotations. He uses the computer to send for weather & crop reports fro agencies of the federal government. His wife favors e-mail, which lets her use the computer to send messages back& forth to her sisters in Duluth & Sioux Falls. His teenage daughte, who wrote her high school reports using a word processor, saved her summer job earnings to buy a laptop computer to take with her to college. Mr. McDowell now counts himself in the "very satisfied" category.
