How to start investing in stocks?

Question: I Want to start investing in stocks. i don't know how to do it. should i first get a demat account? what to do after getting that account? i have a pan card.

Steps :

1. Approach a brokerage firm. 
2. Get a demat account through them.
3. After few days you can start buying shares buy calling the broker or online after investing money in your account.
